YachtStock Buyer Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · effective 11 September 2026

Placeholder pending legal review. This text is structured to match how YachtStock works today. It is not yet counsel-approved wording.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

YachtStock is a marketplace that licenses superyacht photos and video clips supplied by independent contributors. These terms apply to everyone who browses, creates an account, or purchases a licence. By completing a purchase you accept the version of these terms shown at checkout.

2. The licence you receive

Each purchase grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the specific files delivered in your order. The licence is perpetual for the uses permitted below, except where an asset is later withdrawn for legal reasons (see section 7).

  • Standard licence — digital use: websites, social media, online advertising, email marketing and internal presentations.
  • Extended licence — everything in Standard plus print, broadcast, out-of-home advertising and paid media campaigns. Priced at 2× the standard price.
  • Exclusive buyout — negotiated individually. The asset is removed from the platform and licensed exclusively to you.

Video clips are licensed per second selected in the trim editor; you receive only the seconds you paid for. RAW originals are licensed by duration bracket and delivered in full at their native length. Photos are licensed per file at web or full resolution.

3. What you can do

  • Edit, crop, colour-grade, trim, caption and combine licensed media with other material.
  • Use the media in productions for yourself or for one end client per order. Agencies may licence on behalf of a client named on the order.
  • Keep an archive copy of the delivered files for as long as you use the work.

4. What you cannot do

  • Resell, sublicense, share, lend or redistribute the files in whole or in part — including as stock media, templates, NFTs, datasets for machine learning, or in any product that competes with YachtStock.
  • Use a Standard licence for print, broadcast, out-of-home or paid media (an Extended licence is required).
  • Use the media in a way that is defamatory, unlawful, pornographic, or that implies endorsement by any person, vessel, owner, brand or shipyard shown.
  • Remove or obscure contributor credits where the platform requires them, or claim authorship of the media.
  • Share your account or download links with anyone outside your organisation.

5. Pricing, minimum order and payment

Prices are displayed in EUR and exclude VAT where applicable. The minimum order value is €80. Payment is processed by Fungies.io as merchant of record; VAT is calculated from your billing country. Your order is confirmed when the payment provider reports a successful payment.

6. Delivery, re-downloads and account

Files are delivered as a zip archive containing the media, a licence certificate and a README. Each download link is valid for 48 hours. You may generate up to 3 download links per order within 12 months of purchase. An account is created at checkout to provide this re-download access; keep your credentials secure.

7. Withdrawn content, refunds and credits

If an asset is withdrawn after purchase because of a rights claim or legal request, licences already sold remain valid unless a court or rights holder requires otherwise. Where continued use is not possible, you receive platform credit equal to the amount paid for that asset. Because files are delivered digitally and immediately, cash refunds are only issued where required by law or where the delivered files are materially defective and cannot be replaced.

8. Contributor warranties and platform liability

Contributors warrant that they captured the media lawfully, hold the rights to license it, and have obtained model releases for identifiable people. YachtStock reviews submissions but does not independently verify every claim. To the maximum extent permitted by law, YachtStock's total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount paid for that order, and YachtStock is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

9. Reporting content

Anyone can report an asset from its page. Reports of rights infringement, privacy concerns or unlawful capture are reviewed and, where upheld, the asset is removed and affected buyers are notified.

10. Changes, termination and governing law

We may update these terms; the version accepted at checkout governs that order. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms. Governing law and jurisdiction: to be confirmed by counsel.
